I did finally get to see Inside Out last weekend, but even before I saw it, I placed my order for this. It was up (and gone very quickly) and Disney Movie Rewards and I used the last of my points to get him. I knew that even if I hated the movie (which was unlikely), I’d still want Anger. Anger is the voiced by Lewis Black, my very favorite comedian. After seeing the film, it seems almost like the role was tailor-made for him because it’s so perfect. He’s so cool. After seeing the film, I definitely want the rest as well, but he is still the one I wanted the most.

That’s it for me this week! What did you get? Let me know in the comments!

Hello, Goodbye, & Everything In Between by Jennifer E Smith – I cannot express my excitement over this. I found it on the ARC shelf at Malaprops and grabbed it immediately. It was the only one I allowed myself to get, but it was entirely satisfying regardless. I cannot wait to get started on it. I love all of Jennifer’s other works.

Encore To An Empty Room (Exile #2) by Kevin Emerson – I really enjoyed this book and I loved the covers for both it and it’s prequel.
Starflight (Starflight #1) by Melissa Landers – For some reason, I really thought this was another book in the Alienated series! It’s not, but it still sounds awesome!
Once Up A Time: Red’s Untold Tale by Wendy Toliver – I adore the Once Upon A Time show, so I’m ecstatic to get to read more about that world!

Purchased
Ink (Paper Gods #1) by Amanda Sun – I ordered this on Amazon and I was terribly disappointed when it showed up as an ARC. Even getting past the part where you are not supposed to sell ARCs (and the very negative feedback I left on the sellers page), I really wanted the finished copy of this. The finished copy is pretty and made on special paper and…just grh! I wanted to official one! I won’t return it because returning is a hassle and the seller would just turn around and sell it again, probably to some who doesn’t know what an ARC is and to be insulted that they were sold a copy.
Rain (Paper Gods #2) by Amanda Sun – I also ordered book 2, but it arrived as described. I need to read it because I won a copy of book 3 from GoodReads and I can’t read book 3 without reading book 2. I don’t imagine this is a series where you can skip a book and still have everything make sense.

Won
Sweet (Sweet #1) by Emmy Laybourne – I was pretty surprised when this showed up on my doorstep. I had no idea I had won it! Regardless, I’m pretty excited to get my hands on it because it sounds awesome!

Starling (Secrets Of the Eternal Rose #3) by Fiona Paul – Paula Stokes (AKA Fiona Paul) is doing an event at Malaprops next weekend and this was the only published book by her that I do not have. Also, this series is out of print, so it’s either get them now at a reasonable price or wait and they’ll get crazy expensive.
The Wrath & The Dawn (The Wrath & The Dawn #1) by Renee Ahdieh – Ahdieh was part of the Dangerous Ladies tour that was at Malaprops yesterday, so I had to grab a copy.
Daughter Of Deep Silence by Carrie Ryan – This has such a pretty cover! Also, revenge stories are always fascinating.

For Review
Runaway by Beth Szymkowski – This sounds so interesting!

A decent bit of swag from the event and Malaprops, then The DUFF movie because it’s awesome. Also, two pokemon plushies because who doesn’t love Charmader?

This is probably the best haul you’ll see from me in the upcoming weeks. My husband just got layed off, so money will be too tight to splurge on books. :/ But I have a great selection now, so I should be able to survive this unwanted book buying ban! PHYSICAL BOOKS
Books 6-6-15

Purchased
Steelheart (Reckoners #1) by Brandon Sanderson – I first heard about this review for it by CassJayTuck on Youtube (you can watch it here) and she makes it sound very awesome. If I’m being completely honest, I plan on listening to this on audio because it’s narrated by McLeod Andrews and I LOVE HIM, but I couldn’t not get this when I came across a first edition hardback for $5.
A Cold Legacy (The Madman’s Daughter #2) by Megan Shepherd – Megan is doing yet another event at Malaprops this Friday and I am having to conserve money these days, so I had to make a choice between buying this book, the final Madman’s Daughter book or The Cage, the first book in a new series. I, naturally, chose the book with the prettier cover. Well, that and I’d rather finish out The Madman’s Daughter series while it’s still easy to find it in hardback than start a completely new series. Either way, I’m excited to see Megan again this week!
City Of Lost Souls (The Mortal Instruments #5) by Cassandra Clare – I have this book in hardback, but it’s the only one in this entire series that I have in hardback. So when I came across a cheap(ish) copy, I couldn’t not get it. Though I prefer hardback, it’s more important to me to have the whole series in the same format than it is to have them all in hardcover. Knowing that, my choices were buy the rest of the series in hardback or buy this one in paperback. We see which option won out.
City Of Heavenly Fire (The Mortal Instruments #6) by Cassandra Clare – I am so happy to finally get the last book in this series! Just like with Steelheart, I really plan on listening to this on audio because it’s narrated by Jason Dohring and I cannot possibly miss that, but the book collector in my needed to get a physical copy as well.
Every Last Word by Tamara Irelend Stone – I don’t know who donated this to the Asheville GoodWill, but I love you whoever you are. I’ve already made the comment that I don’t think buying ARC’s from places where they have been donated and are cheap enough that not no one is really profiting from it, but I feel the need to say so again. This was a $1 and I can’t really see the problem with paying that for a book I want in any format.
Nowhere But Here (Thunder Road #1) by Katie McGarry – I assume whoever donated Every Last Word also donated this. I seriously need to find this person and hug them. Some of you may know that I am now on a mission to track down different editions of Katie’s books. I was only planning on getting the US and International editions, but I couldn’t resist the ARC when I saw it at GoodWill. Even though I love the official cover of the book, I kinda also like the sparseness of the ARC cover.

Gifted
Denton Little’s Deathdate (Denton Little #1) by Lance Rubin – I really went back and forth over whether or not to get this. I picked it up and put it back numerous times. I wanted to read it, but Lauren has it and my local library has an audiobook version and I don’t need a copy. Then someone at the signing asked the panel what books they had read this year that were amazing and Becky (Albertalli) started talking back this one. I went back to the ARC shelf immediately after the signing was over and grabbed it.
A Whole New World (Twisted Tales #1) by Liz Braswell – This sounds so awesome that I don’t even have words for it. An Aladdin retelling where Jafar ends up with the lamp? GIMME!
No True Echo by Gareth P Jones – This has the potential to end disastrously, but it also has the potential to end amazingly and I’m excited to find out which one it is.
The Improbable Theory Of Ana & Zak by Brian Katcher – I LOVED THIS BOOK! It’s smart and cute and sweet and fucking hilarious.
The Game Of Love & Death by Martha Brockenbrough – I have to say, I’m worried about how this is going to end. I think it’s either going to be completely epic or completely disappointing, but nothing in between.
The Trouble With Destiny by Lauren Morrill – This might be the one I’m most excited about. I loved Morrill’s Meant To Be and I’m excited to see what she does next!
Rebound (Boomerang #2) by Noelle August – Though I did not love the as much as I loved Boomerang, I highly enjoyed it and I can’t wait to see the next novel in the series!

Ultraviolet (Ultraviolet #1) by Jessica Sorensen – If I haven’t already made it clear, I adore Jessica and everything she writes.

Breathe, Annie, Breathe (Hundred Oaks) by Mirand Kenneally – I don’t know what kind of crack the people at Amazon were smoking, but they had this on sale for under $5. It’s the full audiobook, new and unopened! I bought it almost immediately. Right after I bought it, the price shot up to $50, so I’m glad I did!
Wicked (A Wicked Saga #1) by Jennifer L Armentrout – This was similar to Breathe, Annie, Breathe because it was super cheap. It was like $7 and I was all MINE. I’m pretty excited to get a JLA novel that is NOT narrated by Justine Eyre. I really dislike her voice it makes me sad that she does most of JLA’s work. Not this one though! I’ve never listened to Amy Landon before, but I’m excited to give her a try.

Also, small rant ahead. I had a bit of a rough start on Saturday morning. On the way to Asheville, I stopped at a used bookstore I have recently discovered to check for new stock. I found a BUNCH of titles I wanted and every last one of them were ARCs. I have siad more than once that I have no probably buying them from GoodWill or Value Village or Salvation Army or places like that. I can’t kick up a fuss over a $1, which is the most I’m charged. Many times the people running the register at Value Village will see the “free proof” notification and only charge me $0.25. I don’t really see that as a big deal. But a used bookstore pushing out copies for $5 to $10 a pop pisses me off. I know when people talk about selling ARCs, they are mostly referring to the ones that go for ridiculous sums of money on places like ebay or even places selling them for normal retail prices, but the principle of the thing really pisses me off, especially from places that exclusively sells books. Any reputable bookseller, even for used books, should know what an ARC is and that is it is a no-no to sell them. I will admit that I was very tempted to buy them anyway because they were ones I wanted, especially the ARC of Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare, but I held onto my anger and didn’t pick any of them up. I didn’t buy anything at all. ::end rant::

That’s all for me this week! I got a pretty awesome haul, huh? What did you get this week? Let me know in the comments!

Bitten (Women Of The Otherworld #1) by Kelley Armstrong – I have watched the first season of the show and have a friend who really recommends it. I have actually read a collection of the short stories for it, so I’ve been spoiled for most of the big reveals, but I am still interested in reading the original tale. I enjoyed the first season to an extend and since the novels are (almost) always better, I’m sure I’ll love this series when I get a chance to read it. I’m also excited that I found it in hardcover. That is a big reason I made the purchase because I have book 13 in hardcover and I can’t resist them.
Stolen (Women Of The Otherworld #2) by Kelley Armstrong – And they had book 2 as well! Just 11 more before I have them all! I’ll keep my eyes peeled at thrift stores for them.
Fallen Too Far (Rosemary Beach #1) by Abbi Glines – I try not to buy too many of Abbi’s books. It’s not because I don’t enjoy her work or want to support her as an author. It’s because I already have a BUNCH of her books and I need to read those instead of getting new ones, especially since I’ve yet to read any of her work. I grabbed this immediately for the simple reason that is the original edition published by Glines, not the republished edition. I really like owning those editions. Plus, this is the book by her that I want to read the most.
Nowhere But Here (Thunder Road #1) by Katie McGarry – I LOVED THIS BOOK! I pre-ordered it forever ago because I wanted it and because I wanted to make sure I get the ebook of Chasing Impossible because I NEED all of Katie’s work. She’s amazing. For those of you who didn’t get a chance to pre-order it, I believe they extended the date so you can still obtain the book when it’s published.
Caged In Winter (Caged In Winter #1) by Brighton Walsh – I have heard great things about this novel in particular and Brighton Walsh in general.
Twenty Boy Summer by Sarah Ockler – I love the cover! It’s so pretty and unique!

The Bane Chronicles by Cassandra Clare, Sarah Reese Brennan, & Maureen Johnson – I have only read the first three books in the Mortal Instruments series, but Magnus Bane was my very favorite character, so I can’t wait until I finish the rest of that series so I can read more about him.
Velveteen by Daniel Marks – I almost didn’t get this when I placed the Book Outlet order because it’s not on the top of my need to own list. But I’m so glad I got it because they sent me an autographed copy!
Dissonance (Dissonance #1) by Erica O’Rourke – I LOVED THIS BOOK! I’ve been dying to get a physical copy since the moment I finished reading my eARC and now I finally have it! I actually like the new paperback copy a bit better because it goes so well with the story, but we all know I prefer hardbacks!
Dirty Little Secret by Jennifer Echols – I read this a few years back and really enjoyed it. It was Echols YA novel and I’ve been hooked since. She does a fantastic job with YA contemporary and this is probably my favorite of her novels.
The Beginning Of After by Jennifer Castle – It is a little known fact that Dollar Tree stores have a book section. Sometimes, you find AMAZING things there. This little novel just happened to be there waiting for me when I visited this weekend.
The Corner Of Bitter & Sweet by Robin Palmer – I really enjoyed Robin’s Cindy Ella and I always keep an eye out for her novels. This one especially catches my attention because of the cool name and interesting cover.
Shut Out by Kody Keplinger – See, this goes to show how addicted I am. I just won a price pack that came with a hardcover copy of this novel. I did NOT need a paperback copy. But I have a paperback of The DUFF and A Midsummer’s Nightmare, so I need this to go with them, right?
Shut Out by Kody Keplinger – I might have bought two. I might be planning to give the second one away this week to apologize for the lack of reviews. Maybe. You’ll have to wait and see.
Jessica Darling’s It List: The (Totally Not) Guaranteed Guide To Popularity, Prettiness & Perfection (Jessica Darling’s It List #1) by Megan McCafferty – I’m not normally one for middle-grade novels, but I had to have these. Opposition (Lux #5) by Jennifer L Armentrout – I am a little disappointed by this. I bought it thinking it was a full normal audiobook, but it’s actually an MP3 disc with all the files on that one disc. It does play in my home stereo and in my Jeep (and obviously it’s computer compatible), but it doesn’t work in a normal CD player. It was only like $4, so I didn’t waste my money, but it wasn’t what I expected. I am happy to have it though because I do need to finish this series. I need me some more Daemon Black!
Vortex (Tempest #2) by Julie Cross – I have actually already listened to this audiobook, but it was on sale for $3 from Book Outlet, so GIMME! I own Tempest on Audible, but now I’ll need to get it in a physical form to go with this one. It’s too bad Timestorm was never done in audio. :/

Audition by Stasia Ward Kehoe – It was at the same goodwill. Cheap, pretty cover, and interesting sounding story? Mine!
Haflway Perfect by Julie Cross & Mark Perini – I’m so happy to have a copy of this. I devoured it a few weeks ago and I absolutely adored it (you can read my review here). Plus, now I am only one book short of having all of Julie Cross’s books. I just need Letters To Nowhere.
Saving June by Hannah Harrington – I read Harrington’s Speechless last year and it was so amazing that I am determined to read all of her other work. This is a step in that direction.

A Court Of Thorns & Roses (A Court Of Thorns & Roses #1) by Sarah J Maas – I won a pre-order of this months ago and I must say I was very excited to see it arrived. It was also very timely because Sarah had an event in Charlotte the day after it came out, so it’s now signed! ::dies::

Never Never (Never Never #1) by Colleen Hoover & Tarryn Fisher – Not long after I created a Nook account just to get Never Never for free there, Amazon put it up for free. It’ll be awesome to read it on my kindle though. 🙂
The Australian (Crime Royalty Romance #2) by Lesley Young – I already have book one, so I might as well download book 2, right?

Never Never (Never Never #1) by Colleen Hoover & Tarryn Fisher – I didn’t even have a Nook account until I saw this was up for free on there. I signed up just for this. This was too good of a deal to pass up.

A Madness So Discreet by Mindy McGinnis – I’m not on a eARC downloading ban necessarily, but I am limited what I allow myself to get to try to dig myself out of the hole I’m in. That being said, I still couldn’t resist grabbing this. It sounds fascinated and the cover is GORGEOUS.
Future Perfect by Jen Larsen – A book about a large girl who is body positive? Yes! Even if it is about people trying to force her to get plastic surgery, I still want to see that portrayed in YA.

That’s it for me this week! What did you get? Let me know in the comments!
