Hi there! So, I don’t know exactly what I’m doing, but I do know that I feel strange moving books onto my shelves without hauling them on here first. I also know that I can’t keep up with the weekly book hauls, so I’m going to try a monthly haul schedule and see how that goes. With that being said, here is what I acquired in June.
NOVELS:
Purchased:
The Diabolic (The Diabolic #1) by A J Kincaid – This was a complete cover buy. It was on clearance for $4 and I’ve heard mediocre reviews, but I just love the cover.
Soundless by Richelle Mead – This is another one that I’ve heard very mediocre reviews about, but it was cheap-ish and it’s autographed. Have I mentioned that I’m a sucker?
The Beauty Of Darkness (The Remnant Chronicles #3) by Mary E Pearson – I have not read The Kiss Of Deception, but it just sounds like something that I would love. Now I can binge the whole series when I finally get to it.
The Retribution Of Mara Dyer (Mara Dyer #3) by Michelle Hodkin – This is another finale in a series that I haven’t started yet. But I own the other 2 in hardcover and this was literally $1.9 and it’s signed.
The Winner’s Curse (The Winner’s Trilogy #1) by Marie Rutkoski – I’ve heard incredible things about this series. I had to grab this hardcover when I found it for cheap.
Soldier (Talon #3) by Julie Kagawa – I adored Rogue, despite the problems it created for my ship. I really want to see where Julie goes with this series.
Shades Of Doon (Doon #3) by Carey Corp & Lorie Langdon – I am just on a roll for finding sequels to books I own but haven’t read. This is definitely my favorite cover from this series and it just sounds like a lot of fun.
American Born Chinese by Gene Luen Yang – I have been really into comics and graphic novels lately, so I grabbed this when it was cheap.
Girl V Boy by Yvonne Collins & Sandy Rideout – Cute cover that screams contemporary YA romance? It was only $1, so why the hell not?
These Vicious Masks (These Vicious Mask #1) by Tarun Shanker & Kelly Zekas – These was pitched to me as Jane Austen meets X Men. Enough said. I also really like the cover
V Is For Virgin (V Is For Virgin #1) by Kelly Oram – I really enjoyed this story, even if I didn’t love the ending and I need to add to my Kelly Oram collection.
A Is For Abstinence (A Is For Abstinence #2) by Kelly Oram – Same as V Is For Virgin, I really enjoyed this, couldn’t put it down, even if I didn’t love the way it ended. I needed to have a copy to go with V.
Happily Ever After (Cinder & Ella #2) by Kelly Oram – I adored this almost as much as Cinder & Ella. This series has to be my favorite of Oram’s work.
COMIC BIND-UPS:
Purchased:
Fears And Pride (Lions, Tigers, And Bears Volume 1) by Mike Bullock & Jack Lawrence – As I said, I’ve been really into comics and graphic novels, so I grab anything that’s cheap and looks like it has decent art. I know absolutely nothing about this. 🙂
Beware The Kitten Holy (Lumberjanes Volume 1) by Noelle Stevenson, Grace Ellis, Shannon Watters, & Brooke A Allen – Everyone on Booktube talks about how awesome this is. For $5, I’ll give it a try!
Sass And
Sorcery (Rat Queens #1) by Kurtis J Wiebe & Roc Upchurch – I’ve heard a few Booktubers talk about this. Once again, for $5, I’ll give it a try.
Giant Days (Giant Days Volume 1) by John Allison, Lissa Treiman, & Whitney Cogar – I’ve heard several different booktubers talk about this as well.
Saga Volume 2 by Brian K Vaughan & Fiona Staples – I adored Saga Volume 1 and so did my husband. I had to buy all the rest of them so he could burn through them. I have still only read volume 1, but I promise to get to them soon.
Saga Volume 3 by Brian K Vaughan & Fiona Staples – So here’s volume 3.
Saga Volume 4 by Brian K Vaughan & Fiona Staples – So here’s volume 4.
Saga Volume 5 by Brian K Vaughan & Fiona Staples – So here’s volume 5.
Saga Volume 6 by Brian K Vaughan & Fiona Staples – So here’s volume 6
Saga Volume 7 by Brian K Vaughan & Fiona Staples – And finally volume 7! I have them all until the next one is released.
Gifted:
The Beauty Volume 1 (The Beauty #1) by Jeremy Haun, Jason A Hurley, & John Rauch – Lauren accidentally purchased 2 copies of this and I was happy to take one off her hands. It sounds very interesting.
Apparently I’m very biased towards Image Comics, but I’m hoping to branch out more. So far, I’ve really enjoyed Saga and I LOVED I Hate Fairyland. If you have any recommendations, I’d love to give them a try.
I also got a lot of single issue comics, but I’m too lazy to include those.
