July 2017 Bookhaul

I ended up going to a used bookstore this in July where you could sell your books for credit towards new ones. Needless to say, I have quite a pile.

NOVELS:

Crooked Kingdom (Six Of Crows #2) by Leigh Bardugo – I am a third of the way through Siege & Storm which means I’m getting that much closer to starting Six Of Crows. I’m sure I’m gonna love it and I’m equally sure I couldn’t pass up this beautiful copy of the sequel for $8.

Vassa In The Night by Sarah Porter – I’ve been eyeing this book on Book Outlet for a while. It sounds amazing and has a gorgeous cover. I was so excited when I found this in the used bookstore for $5.

Passenger (Passenger #1) by Alexandra Bracken – I really enjoyed this book. I also just ADORE the naked hardcover book. For $5, I couldn’t say no.

The Rose & The Dagger (The Wrath & The Dawn #2) by Renee Ahdieh – I think we’ve established that I like to buy sequels before I read the original novels, right? How can I pass them up when they’re cheap and hardcover?!?!?!?

Alice In Zombieland (White Rabbit Chronicles #1) by Gena Showalter – I have passed up buying this book many times because I wanted it in hardcover. And it finally paid off!

The Gentleman’s Guide To Vice And Virtue (Guide #1) by Mackenzi Lee – I ADORED this novel. Anyone out there interested, I highly (HIGHLY) recommend the audiobook version. The guy who plays Tom Riddle in Harry Potter & The Chamber Of Secrets narrates it and does a fantastic job.

World After (Penry & The End Of Days #2) by Susan EE – I’ve only read a few reviews on this series, but every single one of them was glowing. So might as well pickup book 2 when it’s cheap.

I See London, I See France (I See London, I See France #1) by Sarah Mlynowski – I’ve read several of Sarah’s books and I’ve always really enjoyed them. We’ll see how this one goes!

Eliza And Her Monsters by Francesca Zappia – I really enjoy Zappia’s previous novel, Made You Up, and I’ve heard amazing things about this one. I’m super excited to have it and see how I like it.

Release by Patrick Ness – I grabbed this on a whim and I think I’m gonna give it to Lauren. I really didn’t like The Rest Of Us Just Live Here by Ness and I don’t have much desire to read this one.

Layover by Amy Andelson & Emily Meyer – I think this is either going to be really good, or really bad and I wanna find out which.

Rosemarked by Livia Blackburne – Fantasy novels are very hit or miss for me, but the ARC of this has a pretty cover and I’ll give it a go!

All About Mia by Lisa Williamson – I’ll be honest, I don’t know a ton about this. I mostly grabbed it because the word FUNNY was in the description.

Genuine Fraud by E Lockhart – I adored Lockhart’s Ruby Oliver Quartet. I’m curious to read other things by Lockhart.

The Beauty Of Us (Fusion #4) by Kristen Proby – I have never read anything by Proby before, but I’m excited to give her a try.

Forbidden by Syrie & Ryan M James – I read this forever ago, but I really enjoyed it. I am so excited to have a copy of my very own.

GRAPHIC NOVELS & COMIC BIND-UPS:

The Apocalypse Suite (The Umbrella Academy #1) by Gerard Way & Gabriel Ba – I don’t know a ton about this other than the art looks pretty and Gerard Way was involved. For $6, that’s enough to give it a try.

The Faust Act (The Wicked & The Divine #1) by Kieron Gillen – Lauren didn’t care for this, but I’ve heard great things about it, so she was nice enough to give me her copy to try.

The Delirium Of Hope (Low #1) by Remender Tocchini – This sounded interesting and it was cheap. Nothing much more to add than that.

Nimona by Noelle Stevenson – Everybody loves this. It sounds hilarious and fun….which is exactly what I need in my life right now.

SWAG:

I have a random bunch this go. I got the Vassa In The Night stuff with the book from a used bookstore. I got some swag from Gentleman’s Guide event. The rest, I got from the freebie shelf from Malaprops…except for the Gilmore Girls buttons which I bought.
