This week’s topic: Cars

Let me introduce you to Scarlett
Scarlett

She’s my baby. She’s a 1999 Jeep Wrangler Sport, 5 speed with 4 x 4. She has newer and more aggressive tires now than in this picture and a brand new soft top. I’ve had her since November 25, 2005 and I have no plans to trade her, ever. Gas mileage isn’t amazing, but it’s not the worst. I make a lot of jokes that if I had a million dollars, I’d buy a Ferrari or something crazy expensive like that, but I think even then I’d still drive Scar the majority of the time.

We have a recent addition, vehicle-wise. This is Daenerys, Dani for short.
Dani
My husband has been driving an old, rundown F-150 for the past few years. It got terrible gas mileage and was always giving problems, so we decided to get him a new(ish) car. Dani’s a 2012 Nissan Versa hatchback. She’s a six speed, which is a bit weird for me. I really like her, but not as much as my baby. 🙂

What kind of car do you drive? Let me know in the comments!

  1. OMG OMG my face when I saw Scarlet: :O
I’ve always been jonesing for a Wrangler or a Liberty, and I especially love the old style! (Actually, I hate what they’ve done to both models) I’m so jealous! I wanted a Liberty before I picked my G6, but we decided against it because of gas mileage =/ I’d still like to have one someday though!

    • :)) I highly recommend it. If you get a manual, the gas mileage isn’t that bad. I think I get 20 miles or so to the gallon. I hate the newer models as well! Have you seen the 4-door Wranglers? ::shudders:: I’ve never had a Liberty, but I hear they are just as awesome. I’m more of a Wrangler girl because I love taking to top down and the doors off to enjoy the sun.

  2. Ohhh, I. Love Scarlett!! Jeeps like that always intrigued me, I think they’re very useful in terms of holding big pieces of furniture.
I don’t have a license, but my fave car is the Nissan Micra!

      • I guess it’s because “big cars” frighten me a bit, after I had a minor accident while I was practicing with my mother’s car. Nothing serious, but I was so shocked that I quit altogether. Maybe a smaller car makes me feel like I can control it better, I don’t know…
British people drive on the left, so I think I’ll have to get over the fact that I’m driving the “wrong” way before I can even consider taking driving lessons here!! 😛
