My birthday is right after Christmas, on January 6th to be specific. Normally, I don’t get much for my birthday, except a few phone calls because every one is broke from Christmas. But this month was pretty awesome.
Books
The Art Of Coloring: Disney Animals – From Lauren. It’s so INTENSE. All of the images are so intricate. But it’s also very pretty.
The Complete Harry Potter Collection (Harry Potter #1 – #7) by J K Rowling – My amazing Dad got me this set for my birthday. He’s only response when I jokingly said this was what I wanted was “Don’t you own those already? Why do you need a second set?” Yeah, he doesn’t get the book thing at all, but I spend the whole ride home with these hugging them and petting them. They are so fucking pretty. Now there is just one other set I need, besides the illustrated editions that aren’t all released yet.
I’ll Give You The Sun by Jandy Nelson – My husband let me pick out a few books from Book Outlet for my birthday. I’ve heard great things about this story and I’m excited to give it a try.
Things We Know By Heart by Jessi Kirby – This is another one from the Book Outlet order. Lauren recommended this to me. It’s a contemporary YA romance and I LOVE the cover.
Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon – Another Book Outlet pick. I adored this book. It’s cute, it’s hilarious, and it’s got a lot of heart. I’m both excited and terrified of it’s upcoming film adaptation.
Every Heart A Doorway (Wayward Children #1) by Seanan McGuire – This is the final book on the Book Outlet order. I really enjoyed this book. It’s such a unique concept and it was well executed. I’m interested to see where McGuire takes the series.
The Avery Shaw Experiment (Science Squad #1) by Kelly Oram – For my birthday, my husband surprised me with this book and the next one. This is one of my favorite books by Oram. It’s so cute and it is my favorite cover of all her works.
Cinder & Ella (Cinder & Ella #1) by Kelly Oram – This is my absolute favorite Oram book and I adore this new cover for it. I cannot express how overjoyed I am to have it in my collection. My husband did good this year. 🙂
FUNKOS
For Christmas, my sister bought me the Beast from Beauty And The Beast funko. So for my birthday, my husband decided to complete the family as he says he. So he got me Belle, Cogsworth, Lumiere, and Mrs Potts all from Beauty & The Beast. He also got me Zero from The Nightmare Before Christmas to go with the Jack and Sally I already have. Like I said, he did really well this year. I loved all his presents. He also pre-ordered Caraval for me, but I obviously won’t have it until it releases at the end of the month.
