Inspired by Pop Culture Junkie and the Story Siren, the aim of Showcase Sunday is to highlight our newest books or book related swag and to see what everyone else received for review, borrowed from libraries, bought in bookshops and downloaded onto eReaders each week. Day 2 of the massive book haul week!
Massive Book Outlet Order
Sleeping Giants (Themis Files #1) by Sylvain Neuvel – I’ll be honest, this was mostly a cover buy. I’ve heard good things about it and it’s supposed to be like an adult version of Illuminae, but let’s me honest here. I bought it because it’s pretty and it’s even prettier naked.
The Half Life Of Molly Pierce by Katrina Leno – Every time I see this book I’m shocked by how small it is. So much happens in these few pages and I really enjoyed it…even if it was a bit depressing.
Tracked (Tracked #1) by Jenny Martin – I went to an event last year for this book and it sounded really interesting. It’s some kind of racing story. That’s all I know and it’s all I want to know. I really like the cover for the sequel.
The Heart Of Betrayal (The Remnant Chronicles #2) by Mary E Pearson – I haven’t read The Kiss Of Deception yet, but I feel like I’m going to love it so I went ahead and grabbed book 2 because it was cheap.
A Madness So Discreet by Mindy McGinnis – I really enjoyed this novel. On top of being amazing, it also has a GORGEOUS cover.
738 Days by Stacey Kade – I adored Kade’s The Ghost & The Goth series and I really wanna read everything else she writes. I’m excited to see what she does in a romance story.
Love, Lies And Spies by Cindy Anstey – Jane Austen retelling with a cute cover? Enough said.
Love Charms And Other Catastrophes (Grimbaud #2) by Kimberly Karalius – Again, I’m a sucker for a cute cover. Cutesy contemporary with cutesy cover? Gimme.
On The Fence by Kasie West – This was my first Kasie West novel and I really loved it. I’m glad to finally own a copy of my own.
Nova And Quinton: No Regrets (Nova #3) by Jessica Sorensen – This is one of my very favorite books by Jessica and I’m overjoyed to have it and complete the Nova trilogy.
All Broke Down (Rusk University #2) by Cora Carmack – I really enjoyed Carmack’s Losing It and I’m excited to read more of her stuff!
Amazon Order
This Savage Song (Monsters Of Verity #1) by Victoria Schwab – The amazing Victoria is coming back to Malaprops in Asheville in March so I had to get a copy of this to have signed. I also pre-ordered A Conjuring Of Light from Malaprops just hold the book there and I’ll pick it up the day of the signing. But I really enjoyed This Savage Song and I can’t wait to read it’s conclusion later this year.
The Unbound (The Archived #2) by Victoria Schwab – I haven’t read The Archived yet, but again, Victoria’s coming so I needed a copy to get signed. Besides, I’ve really enjoyed everything else I’ve read by her and I’m sure this won’t be any different!
Kandice’s Christmas gifts put me back in Funko buying mode. I also got Meeko from Pocahontas and Captain Jack Harkness from Doctor Who on my amazon order. This is my first Doctor Who Funko, but hopefully I’ll add more to the collection soon!
That’s it for my online ordering haul. I went a little spend happy with my Christmas money, but can you blame me? That entire Book Outlet order was only $40, including shipping. That’s like $3.50 per book. What did you spend your holiday season cash on?
