Okay, I’m still not sure this is a comeback. I miss blogging…and reviewing. I’m constantly thinking about what I could say in a review and then I remember that I’m not really reviewing anymore. I don’t miss the stress I put myself under from it though. I can’t decide how to proceed. What I do know is that I received/acquired a lot of books and bookish items since Christmas and I wanted to share it with you guys. So this week, there will be several different book hauls because it’s too much stuff to put in one post.
BOOKS
Harry Potter & The Chamber Of Secrets: The Illustrated Edition (Harry Potter #2) by J K Rowling & Jim Kay – I have an agreement with my mom that this is all that is required of her each year for Christmas, the next illustrated Harry Potter Edition. I blame these books for causing my need to own multiple editions of books I love. This is just as gorgeous as the illustrated edition of book 1.
Romeo And/Or Juliet by Ryan North (and William Shakespeare) – Lauren got this thing that I didn’t know I needed. You may know that I really don’t like Shakespeare and I HATE R&J, but this thing looks amazing. You can choose how you want the story to go AND it has illustrations! I’m hoping to read it sometime this year.
FUNKOS
My amazing sister went Funko happy for Christmas. She got me Beast from Beauty & The Beast, Harley Quinn from Batman, Luna Lovegood from Harry Potter, and Hank from Finding Dory. I love them all, but I’m kinda obsessed with Hank. He’s so fucking adorable with his little coffee pot of water.
MISCELLANEOUS
My husband got me the leggings with Serenity on it and the new purse. The purse is a very vague nod to Firefly, modeled after Kaylee’s overalls, but I really love it. The teddy bear and heart are fuzzy and I’ve found myself petting them repeatedly over the last month I’ve been carrying it. I also got a pair of 101 Dalmatian leggings as a gift, which I love. The Shakespeare socks and insult band-aids are from Lauren. She went theme-ed this year. So Shakespeare book, socks, and band-aids.
That’s it for the physical book-ish gifts. I love all the awesome things I got. I didn’t get as many books this year, but that’s because it’s hard to buy books for a person with 1000+ book collection. What did you get for Christmas/Hanukkah/Kwanzaa/whatever holiday you choose to celebrate?
