K.C. Carter had always followed the rules, until this year when a mistakes leaves her the talk of the college campus and she’s stuck in her hometown for the summer to complete her court ordered community service. Her carefully planned out life comes crashing down around her and to make matters worse, trouble’ s living right next door.

Jaxon Trent is the worst kind of reputation for K.C. He’s the guy she’s supposed to stay away from. But he never forgot the girl that got away. Now K.C. is back and soon his world is turned upside down. But Jax has secrets, and though trying to get K.C. out from under her mother’s shadow is hard, revealing his secrets may be impossible. Will he let his past go so he can have a future with K.C. Or will he let the one girl he wants more than anything walk away again?

I’m not exactly sure what to say about this. I waited forever for this book and now I have no words to express how I feel right now.

I feel in love with Bully and from there waited impatiently for the follow up books. I loved Jared, I re-read Until You at least 5 times, but this book was something else altogether. It was amazing and beautiful and I loved every minute of it. The heartbreak, the tears, the anger, I loved it all.

I will admit that in Bully, I hated K.C. Hated her. And when I found out this was about K.C. And Jax I was actually kind of losses. But being in K.C.’s head I kind of like her now. Underneath that scared exterior she’s feisty and stubborn and she can push Jax’ s buttons like nobody’s business. And I’m glad I finally understand K.C.

I’ve always preferred Jared even after Jax came in the picture but after being in his head, I’m in love. Jax is the opposite of Jared. Whereas Jared just dives in head first into a situation without thinking, Jax is cool, calm and collected. He assesses the situation and then acts. I loved watching him unravel when K.C. was around. I loved watching him lose control, there was something pure and raw about it. I loved his demanding demeanor and when he’s in the bedroom, DAMN! Do I really need to say more?

And through all of this I loved watching these two grow. They were perfect for each other. I loved watching their story unfold. it was beautiful and I loved it. I cried, my heart broke and I even cussed and yelled a few times.

Penelope out did herself this time. While I loved being in Tate and Jared’ s, Madoc and Fallon’ s head, I think I enjoyed being in Jax and K.C.’s head more. This story has it all, heartache, pain, and anger and its beautiful. This was an amazing story and I’m so glad Penelope decided to bring these characters to life.

With every word I felt the pain and heartache the Jax and K.C. felt. I felt the love they had for each other and the anger they both held deep inside them. I wanted to scream for them. I wanted to scream at everyone that hurt them, I wanted to scream at the both of them for being stupid and walking away when they shouldn’t have.

And with the way this ended, I couldn’t have been more happy. I cried at how this ended, I cried for Jax and K.C. And I cried because it was over. I love this series and I didn’t want to to end. And as I wait impatiently for Aflame, I know it has to come to an end because all good things do. Unfortunately.

So, with that being said, if you haven’t read this you definitely need to give this a try. Seriously, what are you waiting for? And if you haven’t read this series, I suggest you start.

I hope you guys enjoy this as much as I did! 🙂
