Inspired by Pop Culture Junkie and the Story Siren, the aim of Showcase Sunday is to highlight our newest books or book related swag and to see what everyone else received for review, borrowed from libraries, bought in bookshops and downloaded onto eReaders each week. PHYSICAL BOOKS
Purchased
This Shattered World (Starbound #1) by Amie Kaufman & Meagan Spooner – I was lucky enough to be able to see Amie & Meagan on their release tour for this on Tuesday. I’ve met Meagan a few times before, but this is the first time I’ve met Amie and she was incredibly sweet!
The Kiss Of Deception (The Remnant Series #1) by Mary E Pearson – I loved Scribbler Of Dreams and I’ve heard great things about it!
OCD Love Story by Corey Ann Haydu – I absolutely loved this book (you can read my review here) and I’m so happy to finally have a physical copy of it.
Sweet Filthy Boy (Wild Seasons #1) by Christina Lauren – I can’t believe I found this at Goodwill. I met Christina and Lauren at YA’ll fest this year and they are both awesome.
Breaking The Rules (Pushing The Limits #1.5) by Katie McGarry – AAAHHHHHH. I know they didn’t publish a physical edition in the US, but overseas, they did. And The Book Depository allows you to order books from other territories.
Finding It (Losing It #3) by Cora Carmack – Now I have all three of these books and I’m so happy to have the UK edition. I feel like it matches the other covers a bit more than the American edition.
The Field Guide (The Spiderwick Chronicles #1) by Holly Black – I haven’t read this series, but I enjoyed the film and I found the whole set for cheap. $0.75 each, how can I say no?
The Seeing Stone (The Spiderwick Chronicles #2) by Holly Black – And here’s book 2.
Lucinda’s Secret (The Spiderwick Chronicles #3) by Holly Black – And book 3.
The Ironwood Tree (The Spiderwick Chronicles #4) by Holly Black – And book 4.
The Wrath Of Mulgarath (The Spiderwick Chronicles #5) by Holly Black – And the final book! Now I have them all and it only cost $6 for the set!
For Review
Prudence (The Custard Protocol #1) by Gail Carriger – When I was at Malaprops for the Spooner/Kauman signing, I got to grab a few books off their review shelf. I have a friend who is nuts about this series and I’m so excited to have it!
Just One More Day by Jessica Blair – The lovely people from Piatkus sent this to me. I’m not sure if I’ll love it because it looks more historical than romance, but I’m happy to give it a try!
The Wondrous And The Wicked (The Dispossessed #3) by Page Morgan – I’m really excited to get the opportunity to read this series! It sounds so amazing.
Forbidden (Forbidden #1) by Kimberly Griffith Little – This looks soooo good!
Polaris (Avalon #2) by Mindee Arnett – I’ve been meaning to read Avalon for a while now! How can I not want to read something recommended for Firefly fans?
Elite (Eagle Elite #1) by Rachel Van Dyken – Kandice LOVES Rachels Ruin series and this sounds pretty cool!
DIGITAL BOOKS
Amazon Freebies
Someone Else’s Fairytale (Someone Else’s Fairytale #1) by E M Tippetts – Free, cute, no more reason needed.
More Than Exes (Chasing The Dream #0.5) by Elizabeth Briggs – Same reason.
Rock Me Hard (The Rock Star’s Seduction #1) by Olivia Thorne – Smutty smut smut. That’s the reason.
Falling From The Sky by Nikki Godwin – It looks interesting.
Zoey And The Nice Guy (Big Girl Panties #1) by Carter Ashby – I love the cover! Plus, you know, it sounds good.
The Offer (Call Girl Inc #1) by Jayne Blue – Smut smut, smutty smut smut. That’s it.

NetGalley
Kissing Ted Callahan: (And Other Guys) by Amy Spalding – Nick & Norah’s Infinite Playlist meets Easy A? GIMME. I’m completely shocked I got approved for this. Normally Little Brown doesn’t give me anything. Thank you all so much!
AUDIO BOOKS
For Review
Hellhole by Gina Damico – This looks so amusing and awesome! Plus, I love the narrator and Gina’s previous work.
SWAG
I was able to grab a new poster and an awesome tote bag from the This Shattered World signing. I also may know the title of the next book and I’m not allowed to tell you. I will say that it matches with the series perfectly. 🙂
PLUSHIES
Kohls Cares campaign offers stuffed animals for donations, so I had to grab these three when I saw them. A Wall-E plushie from the Disney Store would be $20, at least, but this was $5 and he’s adorable.
FUNKOS & OTHER THINGS
Okay, so I’m now out of Christmas money, but I have TONS of new Funko Pop figurines. I went a little crazy. And, I have a blanket with Hook’s handsome face on it….and a Courage the Cowardly Dog shirt…and a Pongo plushie. Yep, I’m broke, but I regret nothing.
What did you get this week? Let me know in the comments!
What an amazing haul! I’ve heard really great things about OCD Love Story and I love the cover. I’ve been meaning to finally finish reading These Broken Stars–I may have to do that soon. I hope you enjoy your books! 🙂
Krystianna @ Downright Dystopian
OCD Love Story is AMAZING. It’s the most realistic portrayal of OCD I’ve ever seen in YA. I still haven’t read These Broken Stars…I started the audiobook forever ago and didn’t much care for the narrator. I still plan on reading it, but the old-fashioned way, not via audio!
