This week’s topic: Bad habits
Ooo…that’s a doozy. I have a ton of bad habits. Well, bad is up for interpretation, but I’ll go for the ones that the general public considers bad.
- I swear like a fucking sailor – I feel like I’ve been a bit subdued in this area on the blog lately, but in real life, I have a potty mouth from hell. Though I rather like this quality about myself, I know society frowns upon it.
- Procrastination – I procrastinate on everything! I put it off until the very last minute. In school, it worked well because I was always more creative at the last minute than any other time. I would sit down and try to write a paper or work on a project right after it was assigned and get nowhere fast. But the night before it was due? Suddenly my synapses were firing tons of ideas my way. It doesn’t work as well as an adult. I know if I just do whatever it is now and get it over with it would work better, but I can’t ever seem to make myself do it.
- Not responding to blog comments – This isn’t me being antisocial or not checking or not caring. I genuinely love every single person who has left a comment on one of my posts. BUT I DON’T KNOW WHAT TO SAY BACK! Do I go in-depth and over the top answer? Do I leave a flippant “thanks for commenting!” remark? Is the commenter even going to check back to see that I responded? X_X ::hides::
- Avoiding housework – I work full time (as does my husband) and then I come home and read and blog and do anything possible to ignore that stack of laundry or those dishes for just one more day. This probably ties into the procrastination thing, but I hate housework. I would make a terrible housewife. I hate cleaning, I can’t cook, and the idea of sitting home all day gives me cabin fever, much less the reality of it.
Is that it? That might be it! I reserve the right to add to this list as time goes on! What about you? What are some of your bad habits? Let me know in the comments!
I totally get you on the commenting front. I’ve been pushing myself to comment back but it can be awkward. Especially when they comment was something like “ooh this looks like a good book”. Do you respond with, “yeah it does”? I usually tend to just go to their blog and comment on one of their posts instead.
That’s a smart idea, but then when I try that, I always feel like I’m just repeating the same thing everyone else is saying. X_X
LOL i think it’s funny that swearing is still considered a bad habit by the masses, even tho EVERY FRICKIN TV SHOW and movie contains swearing. i have my own swear words that i use, altho the “real” ones come out to play in high emotional times. and in my head. i swear a lot more in my head. LOL
don’t ever start replying to blog comments w/ “thanks for commenting.” ugh. i mean, if it’s a compliment or something you’re replying to, thank you is still appropriate, but … idk. i always have to hit the “notify me” button when i comment, cuz if i forget … chances are i wouldn’t see a reply anyway! idk how other ppl are, tho. 😀
I know! But I still get looks and comments that “proper ladies don’t do that”!
That’s what I thought, it seems stupid to just reply with a generic comment, but sometimes I really don’t know what to say! Or worse, I procrastinate and then forget to respond at all! ::hides::
