RATING: 2 stars

Unfortunately this book only gets 2 stars. I was a little disappointed with this story. I adore L J Smith’s The Vampire Diaries series, so I had high expectations, but if fell short. The whole story seemed rushed to me. The beginning was interesting, but rather slow. There was an urgent need to turn Poppy before her disease killed her and that worked fine for me because it felt realistic. After she was turned, everything happened so fast and was wrapped up too almost too neatly. The main villian gave up without a real fight and there was no real celebrating the victory for the hero and heroine. I’m honestly not sure if I will read the next book in this series or not.
